- Pro needs to learn how to live in a home, and he will be less lonely and frustrated if he has more time with us.
- Main consideration is Ziggy's safety and comfort.
- No uncontrolled contact between dogs.
- Ziggy needs his own space- the upstairs will be gated off and Pro never goes up there.
- Pro will be put in his room whenever we're not directly working with him.
- Crate- he will need to learn how to hang out in his crate near us. All chews and food in his crate.
- Location of crate- Ziggy needs to be able to move around freely without having to pass crate, and Pro needs to be able to see us while he hangs out. Crate is also very large and in the way! Put it in the livingroom where the rocking chair is?
- Step 1- for 1 week, take Pro on leash to sniff around dining room and kitchen while Ziggy is out on a walk. Pro gets treats for calm behavior and sits. Do this right before something positive in his room like dinner or bedtime chewie.
- Pro needs to learn that he should be calm and controlled in this space before we add the Ziggy factor.
- Then 1 week of the same except Pro also gets to sniff around the living room.
- Then same thing with Ziggy on leash getting treats. Ziggy's location?
- Then crate in living room, Pro comes in and has chew in crate while Ziggy gets a chew in the kitchen with the half-door closed.
- Then same with half-door open and Ziggy on leash.
- Gradually extend time Pro is in the main part of the house.
